FAIVA ‘EVA

German consul, Hopisi and Tongan charmer, Butterfly, vie for the hand in marriage of Vava’u beauty, Mata’ilose. Tinitini (Tevita Koloamatangi), Siua Tutone and Falanise Foliaki, playing Mata’ilose’s mother are the leading stars. Lasting 28 minutes, this sketch shows the improvisional ability of the actors and the degree of Tinitini’s engagement with the crowd. His crying scene is a classic. This sketch was filmed in November 1999 in the shadow of the Catholic Church in Falaleu, Vava’u.
